This is a purpose-built angling boat designed by the Trust in 2006 in conjunction with J M Coulam Boatbuilders for use on large rivers like Tweed. Bank access on these rivers is extremely limited for disabled anglers and the fishing boats used are not at all accessible without considerable assistance.
The Coulam 15 Wheelyboat has been designed so that the disabled angler and boatman between the two of them can use the boat easily and safely. Access from the bank is via a ramp to a hydraulic platform in the boat which lowers the angler to deck level. The angler then wheels to his fishing position in the stern. The boat has been commended by both anglers and boatmen for its accessibility and performance.
A stillwater version, the Coulam 16 Wheelyboat is now available.

Tony Brignall, a disabled angler who fishes the Tweed regularly, has written an article about the Coulam 15 Wheelyboats (Tweed Wheelyboats) in use there.
