Wheelyboat Mk II

Mark II Wheelyboat

This design succeeded the Mk I in 2000. It is bigger with significantly more deck space. It is also more stable and better suited to larger and more exposed waters. These features meant that the Trust could seriously start expanding the Wheelyboat's role beyond the fishing lake and several Mk IIs were supplied for pleasure boating and nature watching.

Between 2000 and 2005, 25 Mk IIs were built including a one-off 6m version for Roadford Reservoir in Devon. There are currently no secondhand Mk IIs available.

Wheelyboat Mk I

Mark I Wheelyboat

This is the original model designed in the early 1980s and launched by Prince Charles at Fishmongers Hall in 1985. It was mostly supplied to fisheries where its simple design has proved very effective at providing access for disabled anglers.

Between 1985 and 2000, 80 Mk I Wheelyboats were supplied. While they are no longer built, there is a limited supply of secondhand craft available (mainly resulting from fisheries upgrading to the Mk III). These make ideal fishing boats on sheltered waters up to 100 acres and are thoroughly refurbished and refitted before they are found new homes.
